China's methanol dual-fuel ship bunkering achieves zero breakthrough

As of October this year, China Shipbuilding Hengyu Energy (Shanghai), a subsidiary of CSSC, has successfully completed the methanol bunkering of three 49,900 dwt methanol dual-fuel chemical/product tankers built by Guangzhou Shipyard International.

In the methanol bunkering work of oil tankers, a total of 240 tons of methanol fuel was added, achieving a zero breakthrough in China's domestic methanol bunkering for ships.

This is another exploration of China Shipbuilding Hengyu Energy (Shanghai) in the field of new energy marine gas/ship fuel bunkering business since January 2020, laying a solid foundation for helping the shipping industry to achieve the dual carbon goal as soon as possible.
Methanol is convenient for storage and transportation, low in infrastructure renovation costs, and has significant cost and safety advantages. It is rapidly developing into the most feasible, low-carbon and low-cost alternative to marine fuel, with good prospects and potential.

As a professional new energy ship bunkering company, China Shipbuilding Hengyu Energy (Shanghai) has started to carry out research on methanol fuel ship test bunkering technology from October 2021.
