CMI Jinling (Yangzhou)'s FURE VINGA attended IMO MEPC 78

On June 9, the FURE VINGA, a 16,300 DWT dual-fuel chemical tanker built by CMI Jinling (Yangzhou) Shipyard for Swedish ship owners, crosses Tower Bridge to visit the River Thames. The tanker was delivered to the owner on January 19, 2021, and has been in good condition so far.

From June 6 to 10, the ship owner attended the 78th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 78) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) with "FURE VINGA". At the meeting, Lars Höglund, the owner's chairman, said the tanker had achieved "extreme" reductions in energy consumption and emissions of carbon dioxide, sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides and harmful particulate matter, and could even meet the 2050 emissions standards.

During the meeting, the Swedish government and Furetank jointly invited IMO Secretary General, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden and famous person in shipping industry to visit FURE VINGA. More than 500 guests praised the ship's green, environmental protection and energy saving performance.

CMI Jinling (Yangzhou) Shipyard has built and delivered eight 16,300 DWT dual-fuel chemical tankers for Furetank, with two under construction.
