Jinling shipyard signed an eight 7,000 CEU PCTC contract with GCC

On May 16th, 2022, CMI Weihai Jinling shipyard and Global Auto Carriers, a subsidiary company of Norwegian shipowner Gram Car Carriers (hereinafter referred to as "GCC"), successfully sign the contracts of 4+2+2 7000 CEU PCTC projects in the form of "Live Stream Signing Contract". The CEO of GCC Mr. Georg A.Whist, Deputy General Manager of CMI Mr. Wu Sichuan, General Manager of Weihai shipyard Mr. Zheng Hehui, Deputy General Manager of Weihai shipyard Mr. Liu Xinnan and other guests attended the signing ceremony.
 
This series of dual-fuel PCTC vessels are designed by SDARI and classified in DNV Classification Society. The length of the vessels is 199.9m, the width is 38m, the designed draft is 8.6m, the gross tonnage is about 69,000, and the designed speed is 19.0 knots. There are 12 vehicle decks, a high-pressure dual-fuel main engine and two C-type LNG tanks of about 1,700 cubic meters. This series of vessels have the characteristics and advantages of economy, environmental protection, safety, intelligence and high efficiency. The nitrogen oxides meet the IMO requirements of Tier III emission standard, and the energy efficiency design index (EEDI) meets the requirements of the third stage. In the design of the ship, the safety of new energy vehicles, network security and port noise control are taken into account.  Meanwhile, in order to help achieve the strategic goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutral", Ammonia Ready is considered as an option in the ship design.
 
Following the signing of EPS 6 vessels of 7000 CEU project to enter the car carrier construction market, the signing of 4+2+2 7000 CEU PCTC vessels is another major breakthrough in the field of PCTC vessels and another milestone product in the transformation and upgrading process for Weihai Jinling Shipyard , and further consolidates its competitiveness in the international RORO market.
 
So far, the total number of PCTC vessels' orders in Weihai Jinling shipyard reached 14 , ranking first in the world. The first vessel of the projects is scheduled to start working in the third quarter of 2024, and to be delivered in end 2025.
