IMC Shipping continues to expand Dry Bulk operating business with appointment of Michael Holm

IMC Shipping today announced that it is expanding its Dry Bulk team with the appointment of Mr Michael Holm as Managing Director, IMC Dry Bulk.

Based in Singapore, Mr Holm will be responsible for IMC's Dry Bulk business and work closely with IMC Dry Bulk commercial directors, Mr Kim Tae Kyun and Mr Keith Denholm, to execute on its asset-light strategy and grow its operating and liner businesses.

Mr Frederik Guttormsen, Managing Director of Shipping, IMC Industrial Group, said, “We're continuing to grow our Dry Bulk operating platform, as well as our other existing Dry Bulk businesses. We're also exploring opportunities in new segments and continuing to integrate and optimise the full scope of capabilities within IMC Shipping. Michael's broad experience and strong track record in Dry Bulk shipping, on both on the cargo and ship side, will be instrumental in guiding our further expansion, sustainability focus and value creation for our customers, partners and our community.”

With a career in the maritime industry spanning over 36 years, Mr Holm has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in chartering and trading. He has held key positions in various shipping hubs across the world, including leadership roles at Metall und Rohstoff Shipping, Glencore International AG, and Trammo AG.

Mr Holm shared, “I'm excited to be joining the IMC Shipping team in the backdrop of an outstanding year for the dry bulk market. In addition to building on our core strengths, we will also continue to forge synergies within the Group to further develop our solutions-focused freight services.”

IMC Shipping also announced that it has brought Mr Vincenzo De Falco on board to head Solution Shipping, as part of a broader strategy to bolster its shipping services capabilities. He will leverage IMC Shipping’s already strong technical and operational expertise in project management, transhipment services and supply chain management. Mr De Falco has extensive experience in shipping and maritime logistics and joins IMC from Louis Dreyfus Armateurs.

Mr Guttormsen added, “As a shipowner and operator, IMC Shipping takes a holistic view of the supply chain. Our diverse range of capabilities allow us to provide tailor- made logistics solutions for customers seeking a differentiated, efficient, and cost- effective transhipment experience. Vincenzo’s focus will be to expand our solution shipping segment in line with the overall growth and integration of the companies within the group. We warmly welcome him to the IMC family.”

IMC Shipping's business and digital transformation is well underway with a refreshed management structure and consolidation of operating systems. Its chemical tanker arm, Aurora Tankers, recently completed its latest newbuilding series and was awarded the Green Ship Certificate by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) in recognition of its adoption of energy efficient ship designs that reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
