On October 26, “COSCO SHIPPING CEN-EXPRESS Service” started its maiden voyage in Qingdao Port, Shandong Province.
Since 2020, the international container shipping business has been confronting a growingly intense situation, as customers are grappling with difficulties in shipping space booking, goods delivery and container pickup. With the arrival of the peak season of the Pacific trade, the demand for Chinese exports to North America is increasing, with the most enormous widening gap between supply and demand.
Under this circumstance, COSCO SHIPPING Lines has leveraged the resources in and outside its system to launch the CEN-EXPRESS service. This brand-new service, based on direct shipping mode, can quickly connect Qingdao, Shanghai and Canada's Prince Rupert, covering all inland regions of North America through railroad trains at the destination port. It can provide 3,500 TEUs of additional shipping capacity per week for the Pacific service. Still, it will also avoid the congested terminals on the U.S. west coast and shorten the delivery period across inland North America by more than two weeks. At the same time, COSCO SHIPPING has also upgraded and opened the “Los Angeles Express Service” to provide customers with more stable service to the U.S. southwest coast.

COSCO SHIPPING Lines will always adhere to the essence of shipping services, leverage the advantages of industrial chain operation, and provide customers with better services by increasing shipping capacity, ensuring container supply and improving services.
