South Korean shipping company H-Line Shipping entered the vehicle carrier market for the first time and ordered two LNG-powered vehicle carriers in Guangzhou Shipyard International.
H-Line has signed a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International for the construction of two 7000CEU dual-fuel vehicle carriers, each with a construction cost of approximately US$83 million and a total order value of approximately US$166 million. The new ship has been awarded a time charter contract from Hyundai Glovis in South Korea.
Clarkson's data show that the order was reached on August 2 this year, and the delivery time is scheduled to be August and November 2024 respectively.
This is also the second order of 7000CEU dual fuel vehicle carriers obtained by GSI after the previous four ships with SFL Corporation of Norway.
At present, Guangzhou Shipyard International has a total of 6 orders for vehicle carriers, all of which are 7000CEU dual-fuel ships.
