Ningbo Zhoushan Port's container throughput this year exceeded 20 million TEUs

As of 8:55 on August 15th, the container throughput of Ningbo Zhoushan Port this year reached 20 million TEUs, one month earlier than last year's breakthrough of 20 million TEUs.　
 
Due to the recent temporary closure of Meishan port area due to the epidemic, Ningbo Zhoushan Port is actively negotiating to rationally adjust the operations of ships in Meishan port area to other port areas in accordance with the recent ship arrival plan.
 
In addition, in order to reduce the impact of the closure of Meishan Port area on other terminal yards, Ningbo Zhoushan Port relies on digital means to achieve intelligent responses to various needs such as port collection and distribution, production operations, warehousing and logistics, and link the entire port's production system. Data shows that from August 11 to 15, the daily container throughput of Ningbo Zhoushan Port was 85,000, 64,000, 77,000, 68,000 and 78,000 TEUs, respectively.
 
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pneumonia last year, the foreign trade industry has faced a shortage of space and empty containers, as well as skyrocketing international freight rates.

As the world's largest port in terms of cargo throughput, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has been working hard to overcome difficulties.
