On June 30, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, China's largest private shipbuilding enterprise, announced that the company received 100 new ship orders in the first half of 2021, totaling over 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, and holding orders over 7.7 billion U.S. dollars, setting a new record in the history of receiving orders. Holding a record high in orders, with the excellent results of taking orders for 100 ships, to present the centenary of the Communist Party of China.
So far, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has set a new record with the highest order in its history, with 160 ships valued at $7.72 billion.
In the announcement, Yangzijiang has announced 11 new shipbuilding orders. Seaspan, a long-time customer of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, has placed a new order for six 15000TEU container ships, which will be delivered in 2024.
In addition, the company has received orders for three new 3300TEU container ships, which are scheduled for full delivery between late 2023 and early 2024. 2 new 82300DWT bulk carriers, scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2023.
In the first half of 2021, Yangzijiang has set a new record for new orders, totaling 100 ships worth $5.59 billion.
