On June 23, the 300,000DWT VLCC No. 91 built by CSSC's Dalian Shipbuilding Industry for COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation was successfully floated out of the dock, marking the construction of the world's first dual-fuel VLCC successfully completed.
The ship has a total length of 333.0 meters, a molded width of 60.0 meters, a molded depth of 30.5 meters, and a design draft of 20.5 meters. It is classified into China Classification Society (CCS).
The ship is the world's first dual-fuel VLCC. The main engine, generator, and auxiliary boiler all adopt the LNG dual-fuel scheme. The main engine adopts WinGD low-pressure main engine. The main engine and generator meet the NOX Tier III emission requirements and are equipped with low-pressure SCR.
In addition, it is equipped with LNG low-pressure gas supply system, C-type tank gas storage system, filling system, etc. Two C-type LNG storage tanks are arranged on the deck. The total volume of the two tanks is 7000 m3 and the weight is about 625 tons. Under the condition of design draft of 20.5 meters and speed of 15 knots, the LNG endurance can reach 12000 nautical miles.
In the construction of the C-type LNG cryogenic storage tank, DSIC organized many demonstrations and discussions before its protection, lifting, and installation, and formulated methods in advance. Through continuous exploration, the C-type LNG cryogenic storage tank base was cleaned and poured for inspection. All pass once.
