On June 23, CNOOC Energy Technology & Services announced that it has decided to build a 100,000DWT FPSO to meet the production needs of Lufeng 12-3 oilfield.
The total investment of this FPSO is 240,868 million yuan (approximately 2.4 billion yuan). The scope of project work includes hull engineering, upper module, single-point mooring system, FPSO towing, single-point offshore installation, FPSO tie-back and commissioning, connection of SKI submarine tubing and FPSO, and FPSO production preparation.
This FPSO will be independently invested by CNOOC Energy Technology & Services and will serve Lufeng 12-3 Oilfield, with a normal production period of about 10 years. The FPSO is expected to be completed before August 22, 2023.
The oilfield operator of Lufeng 12-3 is SK innovation Co., Ltd., and CNOOC has clarified the FPSO chartering contract in the form of a memorandum of understanding with SKI, and signed the FPSO service letter of intent on May 27, 2021. The amount involved in its 10-year service period is approximately RMB 4.4 billion (tax included).
Lufeng 12-3 oilfield was jointly invested and developed by SKI and CNOOC, among which SKI is the oilfield operator. SKI will use the FPSO integrated service provided by CNOOC, and CNOOC will provide the operation and maintenance services of the FPSO.
