The international market share of China's shipbuilding in Q1 remained above 40%

From January to March 2021, China's completed shipbuilding capacity reached 9.79 million dwt, up 39.8% year on year, of which sea-going ships reached 2.42 million dwt.
 
New orders for ships totaled 17.2 million DWT, up 251.7% year on year, of which sea-going ships totaled 6.75 million dwt.
 
By the end of March, the order volume of hand-held ships was 78.48 million DWT, down 1.4% year on year, of which sea-going ships were 29.32 million DWT, and export ships accounted for 88.5% of the total.
 
In the first three months of this year, China's international market share of the three major indicators of shipbuilding remained above 40%, with completed shipbuilding, new orders and hand-held orders accounting for 43.4%, 47.4% and 44.6% respectively.
 
In the first quarter of 2021, the concentration ratio of the top 10 shipbuilding enterprises in China was 77.5%, 6.9 percentage points higher than that at the end of 2020;
 
The concentration ratio of the top 10 enterprises with new orders was 89.9%, 15.7% higher than that at the end of 2020;
 
The concentration ratio of the top 10 enterprises with hand-held orders was 70.6%, 2.6% higher than that at the end of 2020.
