The LNG FRU built by Jiangnan classified into BV

The LNG FRU "Torman" operated by Gasfin in the Port of Tema in Ghana has been officially classified into BV.

This LNG FRU unit, along with a FSU, will be used to deliver gas to shore-based customers.

"The Torman facility, which includes Torman LNG FRU and a Moss LNG FSU, both classified into BV, paving the way for the first delivery of gas to a terminal in sub-Saharan Africa and will also contribute to Ghana's growing demand for cleaner energy," BV said.

The FRU classified this time was built by Jiangnan Shipyard. In January 2019, Jiangnan Shipyard officially started construction of the 28,000 m3 LNG-FRU Unit built for Gasfin Development S.A..

Gasfin is a medium-sized LNG infrastructure provider. Its business scope ranges from reliquefaction, transportation, storage, regasification to local transportation, covering the entire upstream and downstream LNG infrastructure supply chain.

The terminal developed by Tema LNG Terminal and Helios Investment Partners at Tema Port is currently scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2021.
