Jiangnan will secure 4 VLGC orders worth 2 billion yuan

Following the successful delivery of the first two VLGCs last year, Jiangnan Shipyard is expected to secure another four VLGC orders from Oriental Energy worth nearly RMB 2 billion, which will further consolidate its leading position in VLGC construction.

Oriental Energy plans to build 2+2 93,000 m3 LPG-powered VLGCs, which are scheduled to be delivered in 2023. Each new vessel will cost about $75 million to $76 million, and the total value of the four vessels will be up to $304 million.

This batch of new ships of Oriental Energy will adopt Panda 93P, the fourth generation VLGC independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard, which is the largest dual-fuel VLGC in the world at present, and its comprehensive economic and technical performance indexes such as speed and fuel consumption are in the leading level in the industry.

The ship is fitted with the latest generation (LPG as Fuel) engine of MES (Man B&W Energy Solutions).

As a pioneer in the field of LPG shipbuilding in China, Jiangnan Shipyard is currently the only domestic ship company with a full range of LPG ship development, design and construction capabilities, and has successfully developed and built from small LPG/LEG/LNG to large VLGC/VLEC.
