China's first large cruise ship to be assembled in dock

On October 10, China's first large-scale cruise ship entered the dock at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding to continuously carry the milestone nodes of final assembly.

On November 6, 2018, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Carnival Corporation of the United States and Fincantini Group of Italy signed a contract for the construction of 2+4 Vista-class cruise ships at the first China International Import Expo, opening a new era for the construction of large cruise ships in China's shipbuilding industry.

On October 18, 2019, China's first large-scale cruise ship started construction at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, cutting steel plates, and fully entering the substantive construction stage.

China's first large-scale cruise ship is Vista class, which is classified into Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR) and China Classification Society (CCS), and is owned by China Shipbuilding Carnival Cruise Co., Ltd.

Its hull is 323.6 meters in length, 37.2 meters in width, 8.55 meters in maximum draft, 22.6 nautical miles per hour in maximum speed, can accommodate 5246 passengers and has 2125 guest rooms. It will be equipped with two 16.8 MW, 3 9.6 MW, 62.4 MW main diesel oil generators and 2 16.8 MW pod thrusters;

In order to meet the requirements of weight control, most large cruise ships use thin plate segments less than 8 mm, accounting for about 80% of the total number of ship segments.

According to the plan, the cruise ship will be undocked in the first half of 2023 and completed and delivered in 2023.
