On October 16, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) signed and delivered the first 7800 meter ro-ro ship for Grimaldi in Italy. Jinling once again set a record for the largest ro ro ship made in China, and won many first records of marine environmental protection system at one stroke, creating several "firsts". So far, Jinling Shipyard opened the prelude of "the fourth quarter of decisive battle, sprint to complete the annual target".
The ship is 238 meters in length, 34 meters in width and 20.8 knots in speed. It adopts super long double shaft system design and is built according to the classification standards of RINA. It meets the requirements of Green Plus and IMO EEDI. It has the characteristics of energy saving and environmental protection, flexible and efficient cargo handling.
The order is one of 12 series ro-ro ships signed by Jinling Shipyard and Grimaldi Lines in 2018. It is a highly innovative GG5G ro-ro ship. The ship is equipped with an Ecospray in-line open-loop hybrid Sox scrubber. It is the largest and the first new generation of environmentally friendly ro-ro ship built by domestic shipyards.
Upon delivery, the vessel will serve on the main MoS service in the Mediterranean region of Grimaldi lines, connecting Livorno and Savona in northern Italy and Barcelona and Valencia in Spain.
