CNOOC completed construction of the world's largest semi submersible platform

Lingshui 17-2 gas field project, the world's largest truss semi-submersible platform independently designed and built by CNOOC, was completed in Qingdao.

As the first module used in 1500m deep water high pressure gas field in China, the complexity of its process flow and oil and gas treatment system is the highest among the existing offshore oil and gas platforms in China.

Its successful construction has further improved China's deepwater offshore engineering equipment independent design and construction technical capabilities.

Lingshui 17-2 project consists of 23 decks, equipped with nearly 200 sets of key oil and gas processing equipment, and includes a living building that can accommodate 120 people.

The design weight of the module is nearly 20,000 tons, which is equivalent to the total load capacity of nearly 200 super-heavy trucks. The total length of cables to be laid is up to 430,000 meters.

Compared with traditional type semi-submersible platform modules, the truss structure has outstanding advantages such as light weight and less steel consumption, but it has difficulties such as complex force calculations, high fatigue performance requirements, weight control and precision control challenges, etc. .

Next, the project team of Lingshui 17-2 will set sail to Yantai to "combine" with the hull just completed on September 28 to form the world's first 10,000-ton semi-submersible oil storage platform, laying a solid foundation for the project to be put into operation.
