August 28, 2020, Guangzhou Shipping ExchangePlatform (GSEP) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Guangzhou Nansha Branch had completed the first cross border trading of special purpose ship among all domestic ship trading platforms, also lead the new exploration of traders along the Belt and Road to launch international new business. The successful trade indicates GSEP has grown internationalize in business and influence. With constantly innovation and breakthroughs, GSEP will provide powerful support for Nansha FTA cross border transactions, investment and financing facilitation, and make contributions to the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
With support of Nansha FTA, industry regulators of Guangdong and financial institutes, GSEP has brought high efficiency,convenience and first class service through continually updated and optimizedits functions. This bidding had received a vast of attention from domestic and overseas to apply for inspection and finally trade successfully.
I.Open up new delivery place in Middle East. The traditional oversea ship trading business of GSEP is majored in Hong Kong, Singapore and Southeast Asia. These ships arelocated in Middle East, has become the farthest district we have offered our service to traders along the Belt and Road countries. This marks GSEP is ready and confident to bring trading service for oversea assets of domestic enterprises along the Belt and Road.
II.Exploration of settlement with different currencies. With support of regulators and ICBC Group, GSEP successfully completed this oversea PSV trading by exploration of multi currency settlement including RMB. This marks Nansha FTA is qualified to bring international shipping trading with convenience and advantages in settlement. Meanwhile, this success infuses confidence of traders from the Beltand Road countries to use different currencies to make international settlement, and benefits more domestic companies to going –out and accelerate the internationalized development of domestic shipping trading platforms.
