CSSC-MES delivered its first LPG dual-fuel main engine

On August 10, the first 6G60ME-C9.5-LGIP-HPSCR engine manufactured by CSSC-MES Diesel successfully completed the factory acceptance.

This is a LPG dual-fuel main engine, which will be installed on the 86,000 cubic meter VLGC built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding for Southwest Marine. Another similar type main engine will also be accepted and delivered in the near future.

The 6G60ME-C9.5-LGIP-HPSCR engine is a ME-LGIP engine designed by MAN Energy Solutions (MAN ES). LGIP refers to liquid gas injection of propane (the principal component of LPG).

Two years ago, MAN ES officially launched the LPG dual-fuel ME-LGIP model, and received the first modification orders. This time, CSSC-MES Diesel built the world's first ME-LGIP commercial machine installed in the new ship.

In recent years, IMO has become increasingly stringent on ship emissions, and the industry is exploring the use of more clean energy as fuel for engines.

The successful development of CSSC-MES ME-LGIP’s first manufacturing machine will undoubtedly provide strong support for Chinese shipping enterprises to further expand VLGC market and improve the domestic VLGC ship industry chain.
