NACKS won the order of 4 ultramax bulkers from Norden

Danish owner Norden has just signed a contract with Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering to build four ultramax bulk carriers.

Jan Rindbo, Norden's chief executive, said the order was in line with the company's flexible asset trading strategy and a positive response to cyclical market exposure.

Norden has sold 10 bulk carriers since 2018, and Rindbo believes that asset prices have fallen sharply, providing a good trading opportunity for ship purchases.

After delivery, the new vessels will join Norden's core fleet of oil and bulk carriers. The fleet consists of owned and long-term charter vessels and is managed by Norden's asset management business unit.

At present, Norden's fleet has 39 ships with a total capacity of about 2.034 million dwt. In addition, Norden has ordered two 62000 DWT bulk carriers in Oshima, Japan, which are scheduled to be delivered for operation in July this year.

At present, Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering holds 21 2.577 million dwt, including 3 VLCC, 3 23000 TEU super large container ships and 15 bulk carriers.
