China's first oil-gas-electric hybrid inland ship sets sail

On the afternoon of June 12, NEW CHANG JIANG 26007, the first oil-gas-electric hybrid inland waterway ship operated by China Yangtze Shipping Group, left the dock of Dongfeng Shipyard in Chongqing, opening a new chapter of environmental protection for inland waterway shipping.

With a total length of 110 meters, a depth of 5.6 meters, a width of 19.2 meters and a deadweight of 7,000 tons, "NEW CHANG JIANG 26007" was renovated by Shanghai Changjiang Shipping. The renovation project started in October 2019.

"NEW CHANG JIANG 26007" adopts double-hull, low-temperature LNG fuel tank, and its safety performance has been certified by China Classification Society.

In terms of fuel use, LNG has an outstanding environmental protection advantage compared with traditional diesel oil. LNG has become the first choice of marine green power.

The ship uses different driving modes under different navigation conditions to ensure maximum navigation safety, reliability and economy.

In normal operation, only electric propulsion is needed to meet the requirements of normal navigation, and the fuel can be reduced by 10% compared with traditional power.

At the same time, LNG price is more advantageous than diesel, the price cost can be reduced by 25%-30% year on year, and the economy is remarkable.
