New Times wins an order from a Greek shipowner

Dynacom Tankers, a subsidiary of Greek shipowner George Procopiou, announced the execution of an alternative order for New Times Shipbuilding, adding an additional 158,000 dwt Suez tanker.
 
This alternative order is part of the contract for the construction of four Suez tankers signed by Dynacom Tankers and New Times Shipbuilding in January this year. The price of this series of Suez oil tankers is USD 5 million, and it is planned to be delivered from 2022.
 
Dynacom Tankers has been one of the New Times Shipbuilding loyal customers. According to clarkson, since 2009, New Times Shipbuilding have successively delivered more than 30 ships for Dynacom Tankers, including bulk carriers, product oil tankers, Suez tankers, VLCC, etc.
 
Earlier this year, there was news that Dynacom Tankers planned to order 2 VLCCs and 5 158,000 dwt Suez tankers from New Times Shipbuilding. A total of 55 million U.S. dollars, seven ships totaled nearly 470 million U.S. dollars. At the time, Dynacom Tankers executives said: "The company is researching technical specifications in order to obtain the best environmental solutions."
 
According to Clarkson's data, there are currently a total of 53 hand-held orders for New Times Shipbuilding. Ship types include MR product oil tankers, Aframax tankers, LR2 tankers, Suez tankers, Newcastlemax bulk carriers and very Large ore carriers (VLOC), etc.
 
Dynacom Tankers currently operates 120 ships in the fleet, and there are 10 new ships under construction, including 4 Suez-type oil tankers of New Times Shipbuilding, 2 174,000 cubic meters of LNG ships from Hudong Zhonghua, and 2 180,000 cubic meters LNG ships from Hyundai Heavy Industries and two VLCCs of DSIC.
