China Shipping bulletins on March 12,2020


1.VLCC freight rates surged in Asia Wednesday as Saudi Arabian shipping company Bahri chartered 14 tankers ahead of Aramco output hike.

2.The board of directors of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers elected Mr. Chen Wei as the chairman of the company's seventh board of directors.

3.COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers also announced that the company plans to build 8 62,000-ton multi-purpose pulp carriers at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry's Dalian yard.

4.WFO forecasted that China will become the world’s largest offshore wind power market in a decade. Data showed that China is currently constructing 23 offshore wind farms with total installed capacity of nearly 7 GW.

5.One additional passenger from the quarantined cruise ship Grand Princess has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after returning to Canada.
