Cruise ship arrives in Wuhan to accommodate frontline medical workers


A cruise ship docked in Wuhan City on Friday after sailing for 28 hours,to accommodate medical staff who have been deployed all over the city in the fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
 
The Blue Whale Cruise Ship, a 4-star ship with years of cruising experiences on the Yangtze River, set off from Yichang City, 300 kilometers to the west of Wuhan, to Wangjiaxiang Dock.
 
To ensure the safety, the local authorities have disinfected the whole ship outside and inside after it docked.
 
It has six floors, including kitchen, equipment room and living room of crews on the first floor as well as guest rooms and dining halls on and above the second floor.
 
The ship has 13 waiters, 12 cooks and 101 rooms available for the medical staff, according to Du Yongkui, chief safety officer of the Chongqing Municipality Branch of the China Yangtze River Group Co. Ltd.
 
In addition, another six cruise ships are also expected to arrive to Wuhan, the epicenter of the COVID-19 in central China's Hubei Province, to serve frontline medical teams.
 
Over 30,000 medical professionals from across the country have now been dispatched to Wuhan.
