
Hong Kong-based commodity dealer Noble has sold another bulker in its pursuit get out of the shipowning business. Through its subsidiary Moony Hill, the company has sold the 93,000 dwt post-panamax Ocean Sapphire for US$12.75m.
Sister ship Ocean Garnett is said to have been disposed of for US$11m after a previous attempt to sell the vessel for US$13.7m failed.
In September 2019 Noble sold the 93,000 dwt Ocean Topaz for US$14.88m after disposing of the 93,000 dwt Ocean Ruby for US$13.2m to Oldendorff.
Some 12 ships owned by Noble have sold over the past two years. It would now appear that just one ship remains in the ownership of the company; the 180,000 dwt Aqua Vision (built 2011).
The new Noble, rebuilt from the company’s previous manifestation in December 2019, as a result of a transfer of assets and business, is now 70% owned by its creditors, with 20% in the hands of shareholders of the earlier company and 10% by management.
