China Shipping bulletins on January 9,2020


1.Construction has begun on China's first 10,000-ton maritime patrol vessel, which will become the country's largest and best-equipped ship of its kind, the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration said at a press conference on Tuesday.

2.Chinese dry bulk operator Zhejiang Xiehai Group has placed an order at Taizhou-based Xinzhou Shipbuilding for the construction of four 45,700 dwt bulk carriers.

3.Chinese construction machinery maker Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG) has got the necessary approvals to set up a fully-owned overseas bank in Brazil during the first quarter of this year, according to a top company official.

4.The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index stood at 870.3 points at the end of December, up 20.3 percent from November and 22.1 percent from a year earlier.

5.China purchased 3 million mt of soybeans from Brazil in December, down 27% year on year, according to the Brazilian trade department.

6.Iron ore futures in China surged to their highest close in over five months on Wednesday, on hopes of strong restocking demand from mills ahead of local holidays.

7.Trade volume surged this year at a major border port between China and Pakistan.

8.Australia has officially become the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on an annualized basis, overtaking the previous titleholder Qatar.
