The founding full members are:
Arthur Bowring
Edward Alder
Captain FC Lee,
Chris Howse,
Danny Mok,
Andrew Sheppard
Bill Amos
The five-member Committee is Arthur Bowring – President, Honorary Secretary – Chris Howse, Danny Mok and Andrew Sheppard.
On 25 September 2019, HKMAG was confirmed as one of the Hong Kong arbitral institutions recognized for the purposes of applications to the mainland China courts for interim measures under article 2(1) of the Arrangement Concerning Mutual Assistance on Court-ordered Interim Measures in Aid of Arbitral Proceedings by the Courts of the Mainland and Hong Kong SAR.
HKMAG was originally established in 2000 as a division of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. The specific nature of the maritime industry and its disputes have warranted the establishment of a focused specialist body to bolster Hong Kong’s position as a maritime arbitration centre.
