China Shipping bulletins on October 8,2019


1.Oman Shipping Co, the shipping arm of Omani logistics firm Asyad Group, expects to generate at least 20 percent of its revenues from China in the next few years and possibly build some more of its ships at Chinese shipyards.

2.Wan Hai Lines announced the launch of Korea- China- Indonesia- Vietnam “CKI” service on October 31st, 2019. 

3.Dell(CN) and COSCO Shipping Lines signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.

4.BIMCO has submitted a proposal to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to regulate propulsion power of ships in order to sustain the GHG savings already achieved through slower steaming.

5.China's oceanographic research vessel, Xiangyanghong 01, has returned to Qingdao after completing the country's 10th Arctic research expedition, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources.

6.China's spacecraft tracking ship Yuanwang 3 is sailing to the Pacific Ocean to carry out maritime monitoring missions for the BeiDou 3 and other satellites.

7.PetroChina has drilled into high flows of natural gas and condensate in an exploration well in northwestern region Xinjiang, in what could be another major onshore gas find. 

8.The Baltic Exchange’s main sea freight index edged higher on Monday, as a rise in panamax vessel demand offset declines in both the capesize and supramax segments.
