Hong Kong’s Soderberg to join Global Energy Ventures as NED


Thomas Soderberg, founder of Hong Kong-based Tribini Capital, the shipowning and investment platform, is off to the US on 1 September  to join Global Energy Ventures a developer of integrated marine compressed natural gas projects. Mr Soderberg will take the roles of head of shipping and non-executive director. He replaces Jens Martin Jensen.
 
Mr Soderberg has over 30 years’ experience in the shipping industry including tenures at AP Moller/Maersk, HSBC, Seatankers/John Fredriksen, Armada Group and Tribini Capital which he founded in 2004.
 
GEV chairman & chief executive Maurice Brand said: “Whilst I have known Thomas since 2005,outgoing Director Jens Martin Jensen had worked with Thomas since 1985when both commenced their respective shipping careers with A.P.Moller-Maersk. Thomas joins the board of GEV with the strong recommendation of Jens, particularly with the next phase of Company’s activities to focus on financing and construction with the selection of CIMC Raffles as construction partner. The Board is delighted with the appointment of Thomas and welcome him to our team as we focus on delivering our CNG Projects.

Last month GEV signed a letter of intent with Chinese shipyard CIMC Raffles for the construction of up to eight compressed natural gas carriers.
