China Shipping bulletins on July 29,2019

1.Next Tuesday (30 July) marks the 50th anniversary of the container trade in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Maritime Museum will commemorate the occasion.

 

2.China’s index of export container transport edged up for the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

 

3.On the morning of July 25, a delegation led by COFCO Chairman Mr. Lv Jun and President Mr. Yu Xubo visited the COSCO SHIPPING headquarters and held talks with Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong. The two sides agreed to further strengthen strategic cooperation on global freight transport.

 

4.MSC Gulsun, the world's largest container ship by carrying capacity, arrived at the container wharf of Shenzhen's Yantian Port in South China's Guangdong province on July 23.

 

5.China's crude oil output reached 95.39 million tons in the first half of the year, up 0.8 percent over the same period last year, reversing the downward trend of the past three years, an official said Thursday.

 

6.On 18 July 2019, Mr Zhao Yaoming, Minister of the Safety Supervision Department of China Merchants Group (CMG), went to Sinotrans Container Lines (Sinolines) for security inspection.

 

7.China's iron ore futures finished higher on Friday.The most active contract for January 2020 delivery finished the day session up 4.23 percent to 764 yuan per ton. China has opened the domestically-traded iron ore futures to foreign investors since May 2018. 

 

8.On 19 July, Mr Xie Chunlin, Chairman of CMES, arrived in Beijing to visit Mr Xu Pengzhan, Party Committee Secretary of China Telecom Telecommunications & Information Center (CTTIC). They had a friendly conversation on business cooperation. Mr Ding Lei, Vice President of CMES and General Manager of Hong Kong Ming Wah, Mr Ding Jun, Chief Digital Officer of CMES, and other relevant parties from CTTIC attended the event.
