China Shipping bulletins on July 25,2019


1.China has hinted at a tighter restriction on the use of open-loop scrubbers within the country’s emission control areas (ECAs) from January.
 
2.Ningbo Zhoushan port, China’s busiest port, saw cargo throughput rise 5.5 percent year on year to 557.96 million tonnes in the first half of 2019.
 
3.Guangzhou plans to build the world's first automated unmanned parallel container quay for the fourth phase construction of the Nansha area of Guangzhou Port by 2021.
 
4.China issued its third batch of export quotas for refined oil products for 2019, totalling 6 million tonnes, three traders told Reuters on Wednesday.The new batch raises the total export quotas for refined oil products to 48.15 million tonnes in 2019. That compares to 43 million tonnes through the same period last year.
 
5.China Ocean Industry Group Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PetroChina Kunlun Gas (Jiangxi branch) to set up a jv and jointly develop LNG projects in Jiangxi province.
 
6.China Navigation Co (CNCo) has made a rare appearance in the secondhand market, buying a modern feeder-sized containership, Singapore-based brokers said this week.The 1,740-teu Hansa Ludwigsburg (built 2011), which is controlled by Germany’s Leonhardt & Blumberg, is the first purchase CNCo has made this year.
 
7.One of the world’s largest containerships by carrying capacity at 21,413 teu, the OOCL Hong Kong, will be making her maiden call to the Port of Hong Kong on July 25th this Thursday. She will be breaking the record for being the largest containership to berth at the Hong Kong container terminal in Kwai Chung.
 
8.China has released a defense white paper, its first in four years, criticizing the U.S. and taking a tough stance on unification. International strategic competition is on the rise, says the paper.
