China Shipping bulletins on June 11,2019


1.Japan’s Marubeni Corporation has entered into an agreement with China-based Sinopec for the distribution of IMO 2020-compliant low sulphur marine fuel oil.
 
2.Cosco Shipping Lines, the container shipping arm of Cosco Shipping Group, is to launch a service from Yangpu in Hainan, China to Yangon, Myanmar on 18 June.Cosco Shipping Lines will deploy three 1,300 teu boxships on this service, connecting Yangpu, Singapore, Yangon and Pasir Gudang, Malaysia.
 
3.The world’s busiest container port recorded throughput of 3.76m teu in May, an increase of 3.6% compared to 3.63m teu in May 2018, data from Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) showed.
 
4.The 110th Anniversary Celebration of China’s Higher Maritime Education and Dalian Maritime University (DMU) was held on the morning of June, 8th 2019 in Dalian, China. 
 
5.China’s foreign trade of goods rose 4.1 percent year-on-year in the first five months of 2019 to $1.76 trillion, according to customs data.According to Xinhua News Agency, exports increased 6.1 percent year-on-year during the period, while imports grew 1.8 percent. 
 
6.China’s first seagoing LNG bunker vessel is being built by the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) for an affiliate of ENN Energy holdings, one of the largest users of LNG in China. 
 
7.Digital logistics platform YunQuNa has secured a new round of $70m financing from Sequoia Capital China, New York-based technology hedge fund Coatue and Beijing-based venture capital Source Code Capital.
 
8.Novatek, Russia’s largest private gas producer, has created a joint venture in China with Sinopec and state-owned Russian bank Gazprombank.
