China Shipping bulletins on Jan 21,2019


1.A direct sea freight route opened on Saturday between Taiwan's Kaohsiung and Pingtan in Fujian province, drastically shortening shipping times for fresh farm produce from the island to mainland markets.
 
2.Tianjin 2018 LNG imports hit fresh high.The 2019 LNG imports through Tianjin customs are projected to further rise higher along with wider use of clean energies to replace traditionally polluting fuels like coal.
 
3.Hainan, January 17, 2019 - OCEAN Alliance signed documents to confirm the extension duration of OCEAN Alliance to ten years, until 31st March 2027.
 
4.China's top oil and gas company PetroChina is selling spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes on the European market from Russia's Yamal plant, adding to a flood of volumes to the continent amid subdued Asian demand, trade sources said. 

5.Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, and the provider of operational technologies and services that unlock greater performance and efficiency for the world’s leading organizations across the shipping supply chain, announced that Jintang International Container Terminal (JTCT), part of Tangshan Port Group, has gone live with Navis N4 as part of a plan to achieve five million TEUs by 2020.
 
6.The Chinese government has approved 24 offshore wind projects off the Jiangsu Province. Local media reports that the projects will have a total capacity of 6.7GW and will involve an investment of around $18 billion. 
 
7.China's iron ore futures settled higher on Friday.The most active contract for May 2019 delivery finished the day session up 3.23% to 528 yuan per ton. 
 
8.Total LNG imports via Tianjin customs in northern China reached a new high of 3.35 million tonnes last year.
