China Shipping bulletins on Jan 8,2019


1.China Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) announced that, Cao De Sheng, has been appointed as the Director of Maritime Safety Administration.
 
2.China is expected to have the highest demand for LNG with worldwide use set to nearly triple by 2030, analyst projections say.
 
3.China's container transport for export purposes lost steam in December over lackluster demand on some routes, according to data from the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.The average China Export Containerized Freight Index stood at 849.69 points in December, down 0.5% from a month earlier, the exchange said in a statement.
 
4.Maersk Line, a Danish business conglomerate which is the world's biggest container shipping company by capacity and goods volume, delivered more than 1 million containers at Xiamen port, Fujian province in 2018, doubling the number in 2013.
 
5.Jinhui Shipping and Transportation Limited, one of the world's largest Supramax owners, informed that its subsisidary Jinzhou Marine has decided to dispose of a Supramax bulk carrier,Jinzhou Marine signed a memorandum of agreement with the buyer for the disposal of the 50,209 dwt bulker for $7.38m.
 
6.China's iron ore futures finished higher on Monday.The most active contract for May 2019 delivery ended the day session up 1.78 percent to 514.5 yuan per ton. 
 
7.Kenya and China have dismissed claims that the Port of Mombasa could be taken over by China if Kenya defaults on $3.21 billion loan repayment for an ongoing major railway project.
 
8.The construction of a 600-tonne Coast Guard Administration (CGA) patrol ship by  the Taiwan-based shipbuilding company Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Corporation (JSSC) began in Kaohsiung.
