1.Tianjin Southwest Maritime has signed a newbuilding contract with Jiangnan Shipyard for the construction of up to two 86,000 cu m VLGCs.The contract includes firm order for one vessel and an option for another one. Other contract details were not disclosed.
2.Brightoil Petroleum has announced that China’s state-run energy giant CNOOC has, through subsidiaries CNOOC International Financial Leasing and CNOOC China, provided the company $700m of financing.
3.Taiwanese shipping line Evergreen has signed shipbuilding contracts with CSSC-affiliated Jiangnan Shipyard for the construction of four 2,500 teu containerships.The contract marks Evergreen’s first ever newbuilding order at a Chinese mainland shipyard.
4.China's 13th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee deliberated a maritime protection report in its seventh group meeting in Beijing on Friday.The report was submitted by its law enforcement inspection team.
5.CHONGQING, Jan. 1 (Xinhua)-- Fuling,China's largest shale gas field, generated more than 6 billion cubic meters of shale gas in 2018,according to its developer Sinopec.The field's gas sales reached nearly 5.8 billion cubic meters last year,earning the gas field first place both in production and sales in China.
6.Anhui Conch Group has placed an order at Sinotrans & CSC affiliated Jiangdong Shipyard for the construction of four 12,500 dwt bulk carriers.The vessels will be used for transporting construction materials and delivery are scheduled in 2020.
7.China's research icebreaker Xuelong arrived at New Zealand’s Christchurch on Saturday morning to replenish supplies on China's 35th Antarctic expedition.This is the second phase of supply delivery it conducts after it left Zhongshan station, China's research station in Antarctic, two weeks ago.
8.A cargo ship carrying 169,700 tons of bauxite unloaded at the west area of Yantai port, East China's Shandong province, on Dec 26.Yantai's annual bauxite throughput this year exceeded 100 million tons for the first time. These unloaded bauxite ores were from Guinea in Africa, which has the richest bauxite resources in the world.
