China Shipping bulletins on October 29,2018


1.China's submersible, the Haixing 6000, also known as Starfish 6000, made nine dives completing its first scientific application operation on Friday, setting a national depth record for a Chinese robotic submersible. 
 
2.Australia's top two energy companies, Woodside Petroleum and Santos, are boosting production of liquefied natural gas to feed Chinese demand as the world's most populous country seeks cleaner sources of electricity and heat.
 
3.China will roll out new measures including cutting customs clearance times, streamlining port services and improving the export tax rebate policy to increase opening-up and facilitate foreign trade, it was announced after a State Council executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday.
 
4.Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday increased 4.7 per cent to US$761 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
 
5.Marine lubricant specialist Gulf Oil Marine has embarked on a major campaign to inform its customer base as to how it will be navigating the IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap. Spearheaded by a position paper launched today (26 October), the company has already begun a series of 2020 transition seminars in Shanghai.
 
6.China's iron ore futures ended higher on Friday.The most active contract for January 2019 delivery finished the day session 1.22 percent higher at 538.5 yuan per ton. 
 
7.An amendment to support consistent implementation of the forthcoming 0.50% limit on sulphur in ships fuel oil was adopted by IMO on Friday (26 October), during the current session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 73).
 
8.2018 International Ship Management and Technology Forum, which was organized by Xinde Marine News,co-organized by China Shipping Service (CNSS),and supported from Dalian Maritime University, China Maritime Service Center and BIMCO, ultimately ended with great success.
