World's first 200TEU boxship portable LNG tank transfer realized in China

On January 31, world's first portable LNG tank transfer of 200TEU inland container ship maiden voyage and Beijing-Hangzhou Canal Green Shipping Development Seminar was held in Xuzhou.
 
The "Hongyuan Xuzhou" and "Hongyuan Wuhan" are two 5,000DWT 200 TEU LNG powered inland container ships. It is the first innovative attempt in the world, which marks the "portable LNG tank transfer" enter the ship fuel replenishment market.

"portable LNG tank" replaces "fixed LNG tank", which is similar to replacing battery pack of new energy vehicles. LNG replenishment can be carried out by ships at any port of arrival and departure, and the whole tank transfer process can be completed within 15~30 minutes. The 200TEU container ship has a voyage mileage of 3,000 kilometers, which can meet the fuel demand of the two round-trip voyage from Xuzhou to Taicang.
 
It is understood that CNOOC, Hongyuan Shipping and CRRC signed a cooperation agreement in 2021 to jointly promote the "portable LNG tank transfer".
