State-owned oil and gas company QatarEnergy has signed another long-term charter contract with a subsidiary of Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) for three newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
The contract includes three LNG carriers to be built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2027.
With the latest deal, MOL and QatarEnergy expand their existing relationship, building on the long-term charter contract signed in April this year.
Most recently, the company awarded long-term charter contracts to Malaysian energy logistics group MISC Berhad and its consortium partners for
five newbuild LNG carriers, in addition to previously awarded
seven long-term deals.
