China Built Asia's Biggest and Ultra-luxury Ro-ro Passenger Ship
On December 14, "Harmony Yungang", the latest large-scale ro-ro passenger ship completed and constructed by Huanghai Shipbuilding was officially put into operation between China and South Korea. Its body size has hit a new record.
Ro-Ro passenger ship is a multi-purpose transportation vehicle connecting land, islands and straits. It is mainly used for transporting lorries, cars, passengers and tourists with providing accommodation and entertainment services on board. It is currently a high-end product in shipping industry.
"Harmony Yungang" is a new large-scale ro-ro passenger ship built by Huanghai Shipbuilding for a shipping company in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, China, which is 196 meters in length, 28.6 meters in width and 34,000 gross tonnage, with a passenger capacity of 1,080 people, lane length of 2480 meters, speed of 23 knots. It is estimated that the ship will be put into operation at early next year between Lianyungang in China and Incheon in South Korea.
