Shanghai, China (6 September 2017) - Wison Offshore & Marine Ltd. (‘Wison’) today announced that it has won a pipe rack modular construction project in the United States (the ‘U.S.’). These pipe rack modules are to be used for a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) project of Formosa Plastics Corporation in Texas. It’s the first time that Wison Offshore & Marine is awarded a module project in the U.S., demonstrating its fabrication competences have been recognized in the North America market.
Pursuant to the contract, Wison Offshore & Marine shall be responsible for shop design, materials supply, fabrication and load-out of the modules. Wison Offshore & Marine will complete the project in 8 months.
Wison will carry out the project construction at its yard in Nantong, China. With a total area of approx.640, 000m², Nantong Yard has undertaken a number of topsides and drilling modules as well as large onshore plant module fabrication projects since operation in 2006. In Oct. 2016, Wison achieved final delivery of key modularized components construction project for the Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. RPLC refinery plant. Meanwhile, Wison also successfully delivered a few industry pioneer projects at this yard, including the world’s first FLNG barge and the first “Buoyant Tower” drilling & production facility.
In June 2017, Wison was awarded a contract to fabricate modules for 9 sets of 200,000t/y ethylene cracking furnaces for an integrated refining and petrochemical complex of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co. Ltd. This project is now progressing smoothly at Wison’s Zhoushan Yard in Zhejiang Province, China.
