Ningbo Zhoushan Port develops to become one of world's busiest ports

The Ningbo Zhoushan Port has grown from a wharf to one of the world's busiest ports during 70 years.

Now, it is speeding up to build itself into a strong port in the world, with the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone.

The port lies at the meeting point of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. It has built trade connections with more than 600 ports in more than 190 countries and regions.

It also has nearly 250 container shipping routes, and more than 120 are ocean shipping routes, making the Ningbo Zhoushan Port the largest port in southern China in terms of providing integrated rail-sea transportation.

In recent days, the port receives 1.5 ships able to carry 200,000-ton containers and over 100 ships able to carry 100,000-ton containers a day.

The Chuanshan harbor, a part of the Ningbo Zhoushan Port, now has 10 container terminals on its 3,400-meter-long coastline, capable of handling 10 cargo ships that weigh 150,000 tons at the same time.
