China's coastal ports temporarily shut down for typhoon Lekima


Several ports on China's southern and eastern coast were temporarily shut down to brace for the arrival of typhoon Lekima. 
 
The ninth typhoon of this year is moving northwestwards toward eastern provinces with a rising intensity. It's expected to make landfall in Zhejiang at August 9 night and leave on the morning next day, according to a source of the Ministry of Emergency Management. 
 
Kemen, a port in southeastern province of Fujian, would be closed from 18:00 August 8, sources said. Shulanghu terminal, one import iron ore pivot that belong to Zhoushan port, Zhejiang province, would be shut down on 17:00. 
 
CJK channel will be sealed from 19:00, while Majishan, another transfer port of iron ore for Baowu Steel in Zhejiang, and Beilun port, in Zhejiang's Ningbo city, have been closed as of the time of writing. 
 
On August 7, the central government issued a circular to seven provinces including Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu and Shanghai, asking related authorities to launch emergency response system in time.
