China Shipping bulletins on December 6,2019


1.Liquefied natural gas technology provider LNT Marine has secured the approval for its LNG carrier fitted with the LNT A-Box containment system. 

2.Ammonia as a future fuel for shipping has been one of the main talking points at Asia’s largest maritime exhibition this week. Marintec China in Shanghai has seen many ammonia developments highlighted.

3.Classification society DNV GL entered into a joint development project (JDP) with Huangpu-Wenchong Shipbuilding Company (HPWS) on a 5,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel containership.

4.China State Shipbuilding Corp, a State-owned shipbuilding conglomerate, recently delivered the country's first all-electric passenger ship to a company that transports passengers and runs sightseeing trips on the Yangtze River.

5.On 5 December 2019, China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (“CMPort” or “ the Company”) was awarded “The Golden Bauhinia - Listed Company with the Most Investment Potential in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(‘GBA’)” .
 
6.Greece will enhance bilateral cooperation with China in many sectors, including shipping, with the Piraeus Port a pillar and example under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Greek Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Ioannis Plakiotakis has said.

7.According to the latest customs data, China's soybean imports in October plunged 25% month-on-month and 11% year-on-year. Imports during the first ten months of the year were also down by 8% compared to the same period last year.

8.China's iron ore futures finished higher on Thursday.The most active contract for May 2020 delivery finished the day session up 0.98 percent to 620.5 yuan per ton.
