China Shipping bulletins on July 11,2019


1.On July 11, 2019 Xinhua-Baltic International Shipping Center Development Index was released in Shanghai. Singapore, Hong Kong of China, London rank top three and Shanghai continue to rank fourth.
 
2.Taiwan’s state-owned shipbuilder CSBC Corp has completed an installation of a scrubber into a 13,000-teu containership owned by Hong Kong’s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).
 
3.The Chinese city of Nantong is to develop a new port area Tongzhou Wan to strengthen its container cargo handling capacity.
 
4.Huanghua port saw coal handling target for first half of this year achieved one day ahead of schedule, said Hebei Provincial government.The port had handled a total 99.52 million tonnes of coal as of June 29, and the figure rose above 100 million tonnes by June 30, exceeding the targeted volume by 1 million tonnes or so. 
 
5.China's iron ore futures finished lower on Wednesday.The most active contract for September 2019 delivery finished the day session down 0.23 percent to 881.0 yuan per ton. 
 
6.The US China trade war that began almost a year ago, is taking its toll as illustrated by revenues from the Panama Canal. 
 
7.Chinese steel makers upset at rising iron ore prices are unlikely to get much respite – unless their own demand for the commodity suddenly plummets.
 
8.Qingdao Port in Shandong province announced Tuesday it will become the 100 percent shareholder of its neighboring Weihai.
