China Shipping bulletins on June 13,2019


1.Cosco Shipping’s 5,089 teu panamax containership Tian Fu He has been stranded near Qinzhou Port for the past three days.According to a notice sent by Shanghai Pan Asia Shipping, a subsidiary of Cosco, the ship ran aground when it was entering the Qinzhou Port on June 9.

2.Ningbo Maritime Court will hold an auction to sell the 2010-built 35,000 dwt handy bulker Oriental Dragon on July 10.

3.Four research vessels set out simultaneously on Monday for different seas in Chinese territory, aiming to collect marine research data.Scientists hope the research can provide support for ecological protection of offshore areas as well as disaster prevention and reduction.

4.China’s imports of crude oil stumbled in May, and while the loss of Iranian cargoes offers a convenient explanation, there are other reasons to be cautious over the strength of demand in the world’s biggest oil importer.

5.In the week ending May-31, Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) issued by Ningbo Shipping Exchange (NBSE) quotes 675.0 points, slightly.

6.Huanghua port saw its coal loading in vessels hit a new high in May compared with the same period of past years.In May, coal loading at the port jumped to 17.82 million tonnes, outstripping monthly target by 695,000 tonnes and creating a record high for the same month.

7.The Plenary Session of the 23rd St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) was held in St. Petersburg on June 7, according to Xinhua. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech. Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong and Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Huang Xiaowen were present at the forum and listened to Xi’s speech.

8.China's crude oil futures settled lower on Wednesday. The most active contract for July 2019 delivery dropped 1.7 percent to 423 yuan per barrel, data from the Shanghai International Energy Exchange showed.
