China Shipping bulletins on June 12,2019


1.China’s CNPC and CNOOC have both signed share and purchase deals acquiring 10 percent stake each in Novatek’s Arctic LNG 2 project.Both deals are expected to close in the near future following the approvals by regulatory authorities in Russia and China, Novatek said in a statement on Friday.
 
2.Finnish technology group Wärtsilä has been contracted to provide its technology for China’s first seagoing LNG bunker vessel being built by the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) for an ENN Energy company. 
 
3.The largest and most luxurious "ro-ro" (roll-on/roll off) ship in Asia, Zhonghuafuxing (Rejuvenation of China), set sail from Shidao Bay in Rongcheng city, Shandong province on Saturday morning.
 
4.Norway-based FSRU provider Höegh LNG said it has signed a 12-year sale and leaseback agreement with China Construction Bank Financial Leasing for its 10th FSRU.
 
5.The ongoing China-US trade war has hit container volumes from China to the US, with China containerised exports to US ports dropping by 6.5% in the first five months of 2019 compared to the previous corresponding period, according to data by Alphaliner.
 
6.China's iron ore futures finished higher on Tuesday at the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE).The most active iron ore contract for September 2019 delivery up 5.99 percent to 760.5 yuan per ton. 
 
7.China’s iron ore futures surged 6% on Tuesday on expectations that big miners will be unable to expand production to meet high demand, with steel output set to remain high in coming months.
 
8.China’s ambassador to Indonesia has joined the chorus of Beijing’s diplomats to G20 nations trying to drum up support against US unilateralism ahead of the group’s Osaka meeting at the end of this month.
