China Shipping bulletins on Feb 15,2019


1.After more than 40 days navigation, the first 200,000-ton manganese ore carrier “Genco Claudius” successfully arrived at Qingdao Port on February 15. This is the largest tonnage manganese ore carrier docked at Chinese ports. 
 
2.China’s aluminum exports surged to a record high in January, according to customs data released on Thursday, as weak domestic demand led to another bumper month of shipments overseas. 
 
3.Signing a supply agreement with Hitachi High-Tech Analytical Science (Hitachi High-Tech), Wilhelmsen will supply Hitachi High-Tech’s industry-leading handheld XRF analysers to the maritime market, enabling vessel crews to accurately and efficiently test the sulphur content of their fuel, on the spot.
 
4.A joint venture by Canada’s CSL group and German Hartmann family’s HJH Shipmanagement has exercised an option with CSSC Chengxi Shipyard to build one 40,000 dwt self-unloading bulk carrier.
 
5.German dry bulk shipping operator Oldendorff has placed an order at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard for the construction of two 21,500 dwt self-unloading bulk carriers.
 
6.Iron ore futures in China fell for a second straight session on Wednesday as the market awaited clarity on the magnitude of supply disruption following Vale SA’s dam closures.Steel prices also fell,with the most-active rebar contract ending lower for a second day,as worries over weak demand in top consumer China persist.
 
7.Parsippany and Copenhagen, 14 February 2019 –  A.P. Moller - Maersk and PBF Logistics LP (PBFX) today announced an agreement for Maersk to source and PBFX to process crude oil at CPI Operations LLC, a PBF Logistics LP terminal facility in New Jersey, United States. 
 
8.Chinese researchers are celebrating a breakthrough in the development of an unmanned semi-submersible vehicle that can launch a rocket to perform weather observations at sea.
