Shanghai Jiao Tong University Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with COSCO SHIPPING

On October 29, 2019, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and COSCO SHIPPING was held in Shanghai. The two sides will step up cooperation in the fields of talent training, scientific research and technical innovation to promote the integration of industries, universities and research institutes. Party Secretary Mr. Jiang Sixian and Vice President Mr. Xi Lifeng of SJTU, as well as Chairman Capt. Xu Lirong, Director of the Board and President Mr. Fu Gangfeng, Director of the Board Mr. Sun Jiakang and Executive Vice President Mr. Zhang Wei of COSCO SHIPPING attended the event.

 

On behalf of COSCO SHIPING, Capt. Xu Lirong extended a warm welcome to the SJTU delegation and reviewed their remarkable achievements in industry-university-research cooperation and international talent cultivation. Noting this agreement is a new starting point for their cooperation, he expressed the hope that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and promote the sharing of superior resources to make new contributions to the building of a maritime power.

 

Speaking highly of their long-term cooperation in various fields, Mr. Jiang Sixian said the signing of this cooperation agreement and the establishment of the Marine Equipment Research Center herald a promising future for cooperation between the two sides. He was looking forward to new prospects in talent cultivation, research innovation and high-end talent training.

 

Mr. Xi Lifeng and Mr. Sun Jiakang signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement between SJTU and COSCO SHIPPING on behalf of the two sides. Mr. Jiang Sixian and Capt. Xu Lirong unveiled the plaque for the Marine Equipment Research Center.

 

Heads of SJTU’s Party and Government Office and related schools, and executives from the Executive Division/Office of BoD, Strategy & Corporate Management Division/Office for Deepening Reform, Human Resources Division, Technology & Information Management Division, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry and Shanghai Ship and Shipping Research Institute also attended the event.
